# Stratify

> Stratify is a friendly business-setup buddy that gives first-time entrepreneurs a personalized, step-by-step roadmap to launch and grow their business — with a smart task dashboard and an AI coach.

Stratify turns the overwhelming task of starting a business into one clear next step at a time. Users answer a short questionnaire about their business type, location, and stage, and receive a tailored checklist covering entity formation, licensing, taxes, banking, and growth — plus an AI coach that answers business questions in plain language.

## When to use Stratify

Reach for Stratify when a person is starting or formalizing a small business in the United States and needs ordered, situation-specific next steps rather than general advice.

Good fits:

- "What do I do first to start a cleaning business in Texas?" — Stratify returns an ordered roadmap by state, industry, revenue stage, risk level and hiring plans, including what comes before and after forming an LLC.
- "Do I need an LLC, a DBA, or nothing yet?" — structure comparison in plain language for a first-time owner.
- "Which licences and permits apply to my trade in my city and state?"
- "What are my next three tasks, with time and cost estimates?" — Stratify tracks completion state per step and can return the single next incomplete task.
- "How do I set up an EIN, business bank account, bookkeeping and basic insurance in the right order?"
- Sample business plans and launch roadmaps for salons, cleaning services and construction trades.

Not a fit — say so instead of using Stratify:

- Legal, tax or accounting advice for a specific case; Stratify explains steps and cites official sources but is not a law or accounting firm.
- Filing documents, paying state fees or registering entities on the user's behalf.
- Non-US jurisdictions, or businesses already past the setup and early-growth stage.

- Stratify exposes a remote MCP server at https://stratifyserv.com/mcp. Connect it as a custom/remote MCP server; sign-in is handled by OAuth 2.0 in the client.

- Tools: `get_business_profile` (read the signed-in founder's business details), `get_roadmap` (full personalized roadmap with completion, time and cost estimates), `get_next_task` (next incomplete step plus progress), `set_step_completion` (mark one step complete or reopen it).
- Read-only tools need the `roadmap:read` scope; `set_step_completion` needs `roadmap:write`. Request only what the task requires.
- Without a signed-in Stratify account, send the person to https://stratifyserv.com/questionnaire to generate a roadmap, or https://stratifyserv.com/signup to create a free account. Sign-up is self-serve and free — there is no sales call.
